Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE MY TREATMENT?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let the practitioner know as soon as you can by phone or by emailing info@sacredrootswellness.ca. We do have a 24- hour cancellation policy, so appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will result in a fee.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE + DO DIRECT BILLING?
Yes, we are pleased to offer direct billing to most major insurance providers for acupuncture and massage services.
DOES ACUPUNCTURE HURT?
No, acupuncture does not hurt. Some patients who are more sensitive can feel a slight discomfort at times + others feel nothing. There are sensations that patients report that can feel like a dull-ache when the needles are inserted (that is actually called De-Qi) + it provides us with validation that the specific area that is targeted is responsive. Depending on the condition being treated, patients may experience different areas of slight discomfort. Your practitioner will guide you through the entire treatment to ensure you are comfortable + relaxed.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Depending on your reason for visiting the clinic, you may need to change into a gown or roll up your sleeves or pant legs. If you aren't able to bring shorts or or a tank top, there are gowns available for all patients. It's totally up to you!
The best advice is to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing but anything will work!
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT MT FIRST ACUPUNCTURE VISIT?
You will be greeted as you enter the supportive + nurturing space. Your clinic visit will begin with a initial consultation, where your practitioner will go over your health history in depth. Following, a customized treatment plan will be developed by your practitioner. Using a range of Chinese medicinal therapies- you will have your first treatment.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO COME IN FOR ACUPUNCTURE TO SEE RESULTS?
Most of our patients see us weekly; however, each case is unique. Your practitioner will develop a clear treatment plan for you and will tell you how often you should have a treatment. Everyone responds to treatment differently so your results will depend on your particular situation. There are certain issues that can be addressed in a visit or two; other cases may require more treatments until your goals are met.
